Focus on Footwork
One of the most important aspects of passing is footwork. According to Pavan, having proper footwork can make a huge difference in your ability to pass accurately and consistently. To improve your footwork, focus on:
- Starting in a low, athletic stance with your weight forward
- Taking small, quick steps to get to the ball.
- Planting your feet and getting your platform set before making contact with the ball.

Practice Different Types of Passes
Another key to becoming a great passer is to practice different types of passes. Pavan recommends working on the following types of passes:
- Controlled passes: These are short, accurate passes that allow your partner to set up a good attack. Focus on using your legs to generate power and keeping your platform steady.
- High passes: These are longer, higher passes that allow your partner more time to get into position. Focus on using your arms to generate power and keeping your platform angled towards your target.
- Emergency passes: These are passes that you make when you're out of position or off-balance. Practice these by simulating game situations and working on reacting quickly to the ball.
